“We are never more fully alive, more completely ourselves, or more deeply engrossed in anything, than when we are at play.”
― Charles E. Schaefer
I will argue that our true selves are exposed in times of play. The time we take for our own enjoyment directly reflects who we are in the same way the people you choose to spend your time with does. Flow is a term defined as the perfect match between skill and difficulty in an activity that you can completely immerse yourself in. These moments are considered the best by Recreation professionals and it's clear to see why. When you're engaged in an activity the optimal place to be is skilled enough you don't feel anxiety, yet challenging enough you don't get bored. Choose to do something you love instead of idling along and going with the flow, create your own flow.
